I finally attended one of the IG meetups and humm...can you say Humm?
I don't know what to say about it. First I Map Quested the crap out of the location and GPS'd it. Girly GPS was gonna get ejected from the car! She got me to within two miles and then decided I should make a "legal u-turn." Turn to where????
I did as she instructed.
Then I made the fatal mistake after a few U Turns to no where. I stopped at a 7 Eleven. ( You say "oh no you didn't!!!") I did. What could I have been thinking????? They had no idea where I was going and didn't speak enough ENGLISH! (No surprise there, huh?) Ask the price of something and they can tell you how much they've inflated the cost, though. I think they all speak American $. But I was not buying anything....
As it turned out the place I was looking for was kitty cornered across the street not even 1000 ft!
AH HA! You have arrived at destination.
Then myself and another nice Iggy owner were there ahead of the designated 10:30 hr and the attendant let us sign wavier of liability and let us into a large fenced area (indoors mind you) with slippery linoleum flooring. OK so now what? We were promptly set up with a mop & water bucket... great, we're ready for misshaps (wee wee.) Doggie poopbags were strategically placed in proper holders that were nicely available hanging on a wall. We also asked for paper towels. Yah'd a thunk we were the coordinators. (THAT person NEVER showed up that anyone knew of!)
So as the designated time approached the three in attendance included Dorado, one IG and her Mini Pin companion; they just trotted around already through and looking like they just wanted OUT.
Her 2 just begged for pick up the majority of the time. Hummm No play? No toys ..Nope ...NADA NILCH!. Iggy Mom #1 asked for some and a few were tossed over the enclosure fence. A day care/ boarder LARGE- LOUD dog barked incessantly throughout the two hours I was there and the bark resounded off every wall amplified. Does it sound like Dorado and I are having FUN Yet?
Well, no one took charge.The dribbling in of other IGs and their people was .... intermittant. Those in the room had to watch for door runners. And were forever hopeful that some one would tell us how or what to do. No Sign in...nothing... We were all courteous and tried to make small talk. Most igs just wanted out! Or to be "uped" by their person/s. Others just walked nervously around trying to avoid groups of themselves.Only the Mini Pin and 2 youthful IG's under 1 1/2 yrs old actually played.
DORADO ? She just did her usual....fast walk around and around the room ocasionally checking back with me. I guess making sure she hadn't gotten left.She was one of the door runners too. Door open 2 in 3 run out! Wow. Wow. This is FUN? Not in my definition book. Maybe I'll try another one in 6 months or so. MAYBE...leaning toward NOT!
